About Olivia Soofi, esq

Olivia Soofi is a California-barred attorney based in Los Angeles, serving clients throughout the greater Southern California area. Since 2014, she has represented members of her community from all walks of life, providing thoughtful and compassionate legal guidance across a wide range of matters.

Olivia has extensive experience in immigration law, having represented thousands of individuals in their pursuit of legal status and U.S. citizenship. Early in her career, she served as a staff attorney with the Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, where she focused on assisting unaccompanied minors in securing lawful status. She later worked at a domestic violence legal services organization, where she supported individuals experiencing domestic violence in obtaining restraining orders, public benefits, custody and divorce relief, as well as immigration protections including U visas and relief under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).

In addition to her immigration practice, Olivia brings significant experience in employment, equity, and compliance work. She worked in the Office of Equity and Compliance at California State University, Northridge, where she gained firsthand experience in Title IX compliance and investigations involving students, staff, and faculty. In that role, she assisted with hundreds of intakes and reports related to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation at the university’s largest campus. Her work included supporting investigations, compliance efforts, and institutional responses, giving her a practical and nuanced understanding of workplace and educational environments.

Olivia’s practice is informed by a commitment to careful analysis, clear communication, and client-centered representation. She approaches each matter with professionalism, discretion, and respect for the human impact of legal decisions, whether advising organizations on compliance or guiding individuals through complex legal processes.

Originally from Chicago, Olivia is an Iranian-American attorney who values community, creativity, and balance. Outside of her legal practice, she enjoys sewing, traveling, and swimming.
